CAM and SPIRA9 ART Announce Everything Then is Now II – PLATFORM 0 for London Design Festival 2026

CAM – Casoria Contemporary Art Museum and SPIRA9 ART have announced Everything Then is Now II – PLATFORM 0, a site-responsive exhibition presented as part of London Design Festival 2026 and Othering London 2026. The exhibition will take place from 12–14 September 2026 at PLATFORM 0 (The Old Waiting Room), Peckham Rye Station, one of London's most distinctive historic railway spaces.

As a parallel platform within Peckham Rye Station, PLATFORM 0 serves as a conduit for creative exchange, suspended above the railway below. During the exhibition, the historic waiting room is reimagined as an additional platform within the station—one dedicated not to railway departures, but to artistic encounters. Each work arrives carrying traces of a different corner of London. Together, they invite visitors to move across the city's many communities, histories, and ways of life.

Originally designed by Charles Henry Driver in 1865 as part of Peckham Rye Station, the Old Waiting Room has continually evolved alongside the surrounding neighbourhood. From its role within the railway network to decades of closure following the Beeching cuts, and its reopening as a cultural venue in the 2010s through projects such as Sarah Sze's Metronome (2023), the space has accumulated layers of history, memory, and community. These accumulated histories continue to shape the conditions from which PLATFORM 0 emerges.

PLATFORM 0 marks the second chapter of Everything Then is Now, following SPIRA9 ART's first exhibition in the Old Waiting Room during London Design Festival 2025, when the long-disused Victorian waiting room was briefly reopened as a space for artistic exchange and public encounter. Building upon this foundation, the second edition introduces a renewed conceptual framework and a different experiential dimension.

Presented together with CAM – Casoria Contemporary Art Museum, the exhibition also expands this conversation beyond London. CAM brings to PLATFORM 0 a curatorial perspective shaped by its long-standing engagement with migration, identity, memory, social transformation, and public participation. Its collection of approximately 2,000 works by artists from 92 countries reflects an international archive of contemporary practices shaped by diverse cultural experiences. This shared emphasis on cultural plurality, site-responsive practice, and exhibitions as platforms for dialogue forms a natural foundation for the collaboration with PLATFORM 0.

Extending this shared commitment to cultural exchange, the organisers are currently inviting submissions from artists, architects, designers, performers, filmmakers, researchers, and interdisciplinary practitioners. Proposals exploring memory, belonging, material transformation, movement, identity, and the relationship between body and place are particularly encouraged.
