Submission Form for Everything Then is Now – Alter Peckham

Everything Then is Now – Alter Peckham is the inaugural edition of SPIRA9’s nomadic series Othering, exploring shifting identities, space, and belonging in contemporary society. Set in Peckham Rye Station’s Old Waiting Room, a long-dormant Victorian-era space, the exhibition invites artists to co-create a temporary realm of “otherness” where time, memory, and perception intersect.

Rather than occupying or restoring the space, Alter Peckham treats it as a liminal, unfinished canvas, inviting multidisciplinary artists to explore thresholds of form, identity, and experience. Over seven days, the exhibition reimagines “Othering” not as exclusion, but as a transformative process of connection, hybridity, and coexistence.

As SPIRA9’s first curatorial intervention in this historic site, developed in collaboration with London Design Festival, Southwark Council, and others partners, Everything Then is Now activates a dialogue between past and future, asking how difference and in-betweenness can shape belonging.
